    About

FM Oakland in an art gallery and artist studio space founded in 2010 by Joseph Kowalczyk, along with previous members of the Firehouse Collective in Berkeley. The FM Oakland gallery closed between 2016-2018, but was reopened in 2019. Since then, Joseph has teamed up with his wife Emily Tian, to help showcase local talent, and support east bay artists within the walls of FM Oakland. Interested in showing your work? We're always taking submissions!

FM Oakland also features 10 private studio spaces for artists actively seeking to expand their aesthetic vocabulary, develop their body of work, and inspire the community around them. FM Oakland features an eclectic lineup of artists whose work range from printing, ceramics, painting, assemblage, and wall sculpture.

Come visit us the First Friday of every month during the Oakland Art Murmur, or every Saturday from 1-5pm during the weekly Saturday Stroll! We're also open by appointment.
